The clock is ticking for the transformation needed for the fashion industry to become sustainable. Efforts to find breakthrough ways to change are right now happening around the world. Most prominent researchers are engaged, supported by front running fashion companies. To stretch further – this is a call for additional breakthrough ideas that are worth being further explored! Mistra Future Fashion offers 60,000 € to support new ideas for enabling research to change.

Mistra Future Fashion is one the biggest research programs in the world and consists of a consortium of researchers and fashion industry actors that act towards the change – on how to design for circular economy, how to promote a more sustainable circular supply chain, how to enable user to act sustainable, and how to increase recycling. We now call for new additional ideas and partners that can strengthen our efforts on our journey to enable a systemic change of fashion industry.

Key focus areas that will be prioritized are “Digitalization”, “Implementation” and “Scale-up of Services”. Application period starts today September 7th 2016 and ends November 30th 2016.

  1. The applicants can be from universities, research institutes, or industry as well as Mistra Future Fashion existing partners.
  2. Maximum available funding for new ideas is 60,000 € per project. Applications for lesser amounts are welcome.
  3. The call will encourage applications within the below listed strategic priority areas, however new ideas connected to the MFF program scope are also welcome.
    – Market implementation, pilot studies that strengthens the current program by prolonging, upscaling and/or contributing to existing research themes.
    – Digitalization that enables progressive and innovative developments in the fashion industry that contributes to sustainability. Studies can e.g. relate to new business models or tools to enable consumer communication.
    – Scale up services, studies that supports and enables scale up of new business models based on services (renting, re-design, sharing etc).
  4. It is obligatory for the receiver of the funding to become a partner of the Mistra Future Fashion Research Program.
  5. The invested budget from this call should be counter-financed by industry partner in cash or in-kind to a level of 50%.
  6. The final reporting of the project should be submitted no later than 30th of June 2018.
