Mistra Future Fashion’s Professor Rebecca Earley was invited as key note speaker at the “Facing the Fashion Paradigm shift – The Relevance of Sustainability Seminar” October 7th in Berlin, in conjunction to the opening of the “Everything You Can Imagine Is Real” exhibition by Swedish fashion designer Bea Szenfeld. The seminar was organized by the Swedish Institute, together with the Swedish Embassy in Berlin, the German Sustainability Foundation Hessnatur Stiftung and fashion school Esmod Berlin, for raising the question about sustainable fashion and took place during the Sweden’s official state visit to Germany. Earley spoke about “fast fashion” and how typical fast fashion garments become slow fashion. Additional speakers were Elin Larsson, Sustainability Director at Filippa K, author Magdalena Schaffrin, followed by an expert panel moderated by Rolf Heimann, Hessnatur Stiftung with Hendrik Heuermann, Sustainability Manager at H&M; Nadja Forsberg from Swedish Stockings among others.
